Supply Terms and Conditions

BACKGROUND

Roxby Power (a business unit of the Municipal Council of Roxby Downs) operates distribution and retail services for the supply of electricity within the Roxby Downs Township. Roxby Power is the Distribution Authority pursuant to Clause 18 of the Schedule to the Roxby Downs (Indenture Ratification) Act 1982 and operates in accordance with a Notice of Exemption issued by the Minister for Energy and Mining pursuant to Section 34 of the South Australia National Retail Law Act 2011.

The supply and distribution of electricity is regulated by legislation including the National Electricity Retail Law (South Australia) Act 2011 (the NERL Act) and the Electricity Act 1996. Council is exempt from holding a retailer authorisation under the NERL Act, but must comply with conditions imposed on it as an ‘exempt seller’. The conditions with which Council must comply are specified in a Notice of Exemption and, to the extent that these conditions affect customers, these have been incorporated in these Terms and Conditions.

The Roxby Power Service and Installation Rules incorporate the "Technical Installation Rules" referred to in regulation 76 of the Electricity (General) Regulations 2012 under the Electricity Act 1996.

Roxby Power - Supply Terms and Conditions set out the terms and conditions under which Council supplies electricity to customers within the Roxby Downs Township.

Customers applying for a new connection or reconnection after being disconnected due to an overdue account balance, may be asked to pay an electricity bond. Roxby Power - Electricity Bond Policy
