General Household Waste is any solid waste generated by domestic activities that isn’t suitable or doesn’t fit in your kerbside recycling or general waste bin.  It does not include liquid waste, construction materials or hazardous waste*.

Domestic Quantity:  an amount of waste that could reasonably be expected to be produced by general day to day domestic activities.

*hazardous waste - motor oil, batteries, chemicals, car batteries and similar.

BSH operates an integrated transport and resource recovery centre at Gosse Street, Roxby Downs. As part of Council’s waste management services contract with BSH, Council has secured free access for Roxby Downs residents to deliver domestic quantities of segregated waste and recycling products to this facility. As this facility caters to other elements of commercial operations conducted by BSH, arrangements have been agreed with BSH for free public access times to be specified and confined to 14 hours per week. This will assist BSH in efficient resource allocation whilst still maintaining an effective service for the Roxby Downs Community.
