Household Waste and Recycling Free Drop-Off Information
If you are a current resident of Roxby Downs, you can access free residential waste drop-off for household waste and recycling. This service is provided by Roxby Council to support the community, and is available from Friday to Monday between the hours of 8:30am & 11:30am (CLOSED Public Holidays).
Note: You may be asked to provide proof of Roxby Downs residency (eg: current driver’s licence detailing Roxby Downs address).

Free drop-off is only available for household waste types listed below. Fees apply for other waste types and volumes.
- general household waste - solid waste and recycling produced by your household. Please note certain items are not eligible for free dumping and will incur a fee (refer to the section below for more information on what IS NOT permitted for Free residential drop-off)
- recycling
- cardboard
- metal
- green waste
- clean fill

This service operates from Roxby Council's Opal Road Waste Management Facility, located at Lot 673 Opal Road, Roxby Downs between the hours of 8:00am – 11:30am on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The facility is CLOSED on Public Holidays
NOTE: FREE DISPOSAL OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE, IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING THESE ALLOCATED TIMES.
If you visit outside of these times, or bring waste that does not meet the 'free waste' criteria (as described above), you will be required to pay a fee.
Fees apply to commercial businesses and residents outside free disposal times.
- Fees are also applicable if you:
- drop off waste (even acceptable waste) outside of the free drop-off times
- drop off amounts of waste that are more than would reasonably be made by a household
- do not live in Roxby Downs
- are dropping off Commercial waste
- Loads and charges can be assessed at the operators discretion and commercial rates of other waste types can be quoted or rejected.
- The service is not available on the following public holidays - New Years Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and is not available for Commercial waste disposal.
