Roxby Downs is a great place to stop and refuel both your vehicle and yourselves with the many facilities available for travellers passing through our town.

If you need some help finding anything, the Visitor Information Centre in the Roxbylink complex is a great place to start to find a few more interesting tips and tours to do in the local area.

Roxby Downs doesn't have any official free camping sites. Please speak to staff at the Visitor Information Centre regarding options for places this is permitted on the outskirts of town.

Andamooka has a low cost Caravan and Camping Ground, located just on the left as you come in to Andamooka from Roxby. Marked on the below map as camping. $3 per person per night or $10 per night powered for two people, payment is by honour system in a collection box adjacent to the BBQ kitchen. Facilities include; hot showers (coin operated), toilets, potable water (some fees apply), undercover BBQ kitchen, shade shelter, playground and skate ramp. Visit for more information.

Dump Point

A dump point and potable water station is available on Olympic Way next to BP on the Roxby Township side.

Getting Here

Roxby Downs is roughly 560 km North of Adelaide - South Australia's Capital City.

Drive to Roxby Downs

Turn off of the Stuart highway at Pimba and bypass Woomera and follow Olympic Dam Road or from the Oodnadatta Track head down the Borefield Road (unsealed) and onto Olympic Way.

Fly to Roxby Downs

Alliance Airlines operates flights between Olympic Dam and Adelaide landing at Olympic Dam Airport (10 km's out of Roxby Downs) and only take 1.5 hours.

Long Vehicle Parking

Long vehicle parking is available just off of Richardson Place at the western end, behind the Roxby Downs Community Club. Please note this area is not for overnight camping.

Public Toilets

Public toilets are available at the centre of the main street - Richardson Place, at Lions Park next to the the long vehicle parking and at the Visitor Information Centre. Refer to town map below.
