Community Youth Centre (CYC)
The Community Youth Centre is a place for youth between the ages of 10-18yrs and provides a safe and relaxing space to chill out or participate in a range of activities. Children under the age of 10 require parental or guardian supervision.
The area contains a pool table, air hockey table, Wii & Xbox consoles, couches, beanbags, cafe seating and more. During school holidays and student free days, the giant outdoor chess pieces are set up, and a range of structured and unstructured activities are planned as part of the school holiday program, such as art, cooking, and taco/pizza days.
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) consult with local youth to ensure that the centre is meeting the activity and leisure needs of youth. The YAC plan events throughout the year such as gaming nights, themed nights and pool parties, and they also support Youth Week activities.
Community Use:
The CYC is also available for the wider community. It can be booked outside of the designated youth hours – after school drop in (2.45-5pm Monday to Friday), school holidays and student free days.
The space is available to be booked for a variety of uses including community, business and sporting club meetings, events, functions and more.
The CYC capacity is 80 people and has a full commercial kitchen.

The CYC is just one of the services available for children and youth in Roxby Downs and we are proud to provide this safe environment for the future minds of the Roxby community.
Staffing
Our staff are First Aid certified, have passed all Working with Children Checks and are on duty during open hours.
