Over 10% of the Roxby Downs population is made up of children under 5 years of age (2016, Census), compared to 5.5% for Regional SA.  The young age structure of Roxby Downs is an indicator of demand for services and programs for children and youth.  As such the Roxby Downs Council and community groups have developed a number of key ongoing programs.

Toddler Storytime

Tuesdays and Fridays (repeat session) at 9:30am in the Community Library.  Toddler Storytime includes a combination of singing, dancing, craft time and storytelling.

Research confirms reading to children just 10 minutes each day strengthens literacy, models positive reading behaviour, and builds children’s self-esteem about reading.

Toddler Storytime is a partnership between the Roxby Downs 'Strengthening our Families' program and the Library.

Bookings are not required.

Play Cafe

Join us in the Dunes Play Café with equipment for children under 5.  Let the kids have a play whilst you have a cuppa!

Kids Club Creche

Is a service that caters for children aged six months to five years.  Offering a one hour childcare per child on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  Why not go to the Gym or the Library to study whilst Kids Club Creche takes care of your little one.

Session times are either 9-10am or 10-11am. (Please note that we are closed on public holidays and during school holidays)

Please be aware that your child can only attend during the times you have booked. If you arrive late you are still required to collect your child at the end of the scheduled session.

Parents must remain in the centre throughout your child's booking.

Cost:   We encourage a gold coin donation per child for this service. You can book your spot by calling the Roxby Link Kiosk on 8671 0500 up to 7 days in advance

Nippy Gym

Nippy Gym creates a play environment where children aged 0-5 years can develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically in a safe, semi-structured and multi-sensory environment.

Set up are a range of toys and activities to keep your child interested while learning to share with other children. 

Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of their own children and must remain with them at all times. Nippy Gym operates Thursday mornings (excluding school holidays) in Stadium 2 of the Roxby Link complex from 9.15-11am.
