Red, Yellow or Green Bin?

Published 27th August 2024

Household Waste Disposal - WHAT goes in WHICH Bin!?

To ensure your kerbside bin is collected, please make sure you are putting waste, recycling materials and garden organics into the right bins!

Disposal Tips!

  • Do not place steel, stones, concrete, hot ashes or oil in your bins
  • Do not over load your bins - maximum of 80kg
  • Do make sure that the lid is closed.
    • This will stop the Crows raiding your bin and pulling rubbish; and
    • wind blowing rubbish onto the street

Did you know!

Dog / cat poo goes in the RED Bin NOT the GREEN Organics bin!!

Hazardous Materials!

Please don't place hazardous products/material into your kerbside collection bins.

These items include:

  • Motor oil
  • batteries, chemicals
  • car batteries

These items are able to be dropped off and processed at the Opal Road Waste Management Facility at any time or on free dump days.
