The much-anticipated Roxby Downs Pump Track project is a step closer.
Preparations for going out to tender have begun, after a recent application for State Government funding was successful.
The Pump Track project was first mooted by local school students, the Town’s Sport and Recreation Forum and the Youth Advisory Committee three years ago.
The Sport and Recreation Forum then successfully engaged BHP to work with Council to develop three Pump Track concept plans.
Public consultation showed a clear preference for one of the concept designs, which was then progressed to a full engineering design.
Council Chief Executive, Roy Blight says Council has been committed to making the Pump Track a reality from the outset.
The project is being supported by the Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program, the Sports and Recreation Forum and BHP.
