Meet Roxby Link's new Group Manager Lifestyle, Sport and Community!
Roxby Council is pleased to announce that long-time resident Verity Hollobone has been appointed to the position of Group Manager Lifestyle, Sport and Community at Roxby Link.
Verity is a familiar face at Roxby Link, working in numerous roles at the facility over the past decade. Most recently, she’s performed exceptionally as Acting Manager Community Development and Team Leader at the Community Library.
‘I’ve always believed that if opportunity knocks, open the door,’ says Verity. ‘I’m really excited about my new role because I’m passionate about providing great customer service and experiences, as well as helping staff reach their potential.’
Verity has completed a combined Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Philosophy, Screen Studies, English and Human Resources. After finishing her studies at Flinders University, Verity returned to Roxby to pursue her career.
‘I’ve been here (at Roxby Link) for a long time and I’ve worked in so many different roles, I understand what it’s like to work in customer service and admin and the library and that will really help me in this new position,’ she says.
Verity and her family moved to Roxby Downs from Western Australia when she was just six years old and she completed her schooling at Roxby Downs Area School, where she also met her now husband Ryan.
The 32-year-old is passionate about her hometown and is the President of the Roxby Downs Netball Association and Senior Competition Co-ordinator.
Verity is also an avid reader and manages the Community Library’s Book Club. ‘I love Roxby,’ she says. ‘You get to know everyone here and there’s just a real sense of community spirit and everyone working together to achieve what’s best for the town.’
Verity is looking forward to a return to normal activities at Roxby Link after a long period of COVID-19 restrictions.
Roxby Council Chief Executive Roy Blight congratulates Verity on her appointment and says he’s looking forward to working with her as part of the leadership group at Roxby Council.
