Council is seeking feedback on its 2025 Proposed By-laws

Section 246 of the Local Government Act 1999 allows Council to make By-laws. By-laws are local laws designed for the good rule and governance of the Council area and for the convenience, comfort and safety of the community.

By-laws must relate to the functions and powers of Councils as established under the Local Government Act 1999 and the Dog and Cat Management Act 1999 and can only apply to the area of the Council that has made the By-law.

Copies of the proposed By-laws are available at the following locations throughout the consultation period.

Council has released the Draft Proposed By-laws for community consultation from 9:00am Tuesday, 20 August to 6:30pm Tuesday 10 August 2024, and welcomes your feedback on the proposed By-laws throughout this period.
