Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/2024

Council is seeking Community feedback on the following:

  • Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/2024
  • Draft Long-term Financial Plan 2023/2033
  • Draft Asset Management Plan 2023/2033

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1999, each Local Government Authority is required to develop an Annual Business Plan and Budget for each financial year.

Council has released the Draft 2023/2024 Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget for a period of Community Consultation from 9am Thursday 1 June 2023 to 6.30pm Wednesday 21 June 2023.

The Draft Annual Business Plan outlines Council’s priorities and program of works for the next 12 months, allocates funding for key projects and services, and shows how your rates are invested.

We are pleased to confirm that Council remains debt-free, appropriately managed and committed to good governance. This is reflected in the 2023/2024 Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget.

Council encourage community involvement in the planning, implementation, evaluation and decision making processes of Council services and the management of community resources and your input is important.

We welcome your feedback on the draft documents, which will be formally considered by Council in June, before adoption of the final documents in July 2023.

Consultation

An important component of preparing the Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget is consultation with a broad range of stakeholders and, importantly, the community for which the plan is developed.  The Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/2024 forms the basis for Council’s operations in the coming financial year and is informed by community consultation.

It is essential for Council to understand the community's needs and expectations and to provide the community with the opportunity to provide feedback on the Draft document prior to consideration and adoption by Council.  As such The Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/2024 is seeking input and feedback from the community and the wider public.

  • Formal written submissions will be received at the Council Office, PO Box 124, Roxby Downs SA 5725 or by email consultation@roxbycouncil.com.au - until 6.30pm on Wednesday 21 June 2023.
  • Two meet & discuss sessions will be held:
    • Tuesday 6 June 2023  at the Roxby Downs Community Hub @ 10:00am
    • Thursday 8 June 2023 at  the Dunes Cafe @ 10:30am & Community Library @ 4:30pm
  • A Facebook presentation will be available and provide an overview of the plan and invites the public to give feedback on the Roxby Council Facebook page on:
    • Tuesday 13 June 2023 from 10:30am
  • A public meeting will be held on Wednesday 28 June at 4:30pm at the Roxby Council Boardroom to invite verbal in person responses from the community.
