Youth Development Officer
Hours negotiable up to full time (76 hours a fortnight)
Level 4 ($76,847-$82,417)
Roxby Council is seeking a Youth Development Officer to support and empower young people in our community. The role oversees the operation and maintenance of the Community Youth Centre, ensuring it is well-utilised and well-presented.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating innovative programs and activities that engage, inspire and support young people in Roxby Downs. You will work closely with the Community Development Manager to:
- Lead and manage a Youth Leadership program.
- Plan and deliver youth-focused initiatives, events, and services.
- Advocate for young people's rights and personal growth.
- Collaborate with community organisations and stakeholders to provide accessible youth services.
- Promote programs through social media and community channels.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of social science or youth services and/or relevant experience in a similar role is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with youth and community.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram).
- First Aid certification & Safe Environments “Through Their Eyes” training (or willingness to complete).
- Working with Children check required.
