Community Board and Forums
The Roxby Downs Community Board is made up of representatives from the town, BHP and Roxby Council. The Board is a separate entity to Roxby Council but both parties work together to produce positive outcomes for the community. The Board acts as a lobbying body and aims to improve the quality of life for residents in Roxby Downs.
The local representatives on the Community Board are from the interest group subcommittees known as forums. Residents are strongly encouraged to join the various forums to participate in shaping Roxby Downs.
In 2018 an independent organisation, engaged by BHP, worked with the Community Board to help create a Community Development Plan. Intensive community consultation was undertaken, including individual discussions with local residents, community focus groups and a community survey. The consultation helped identify community development priority areas.
The Community Board and forums will drive and support the implementation of the Community Development Plan with the assistance of key community stakeholders.
The Plan will be reviewed annually to monitor and evaluate progress.
